SAMRA Committee Meeting 27th February 2017

ALL – here are the SAMRA EC Meeting Minutes from 27th February.

Note that the next meeting has been adjusted to Wednesday 22nd March at 7pm at Sandymount Hotel.

The Website Design Meting was held today (Turner/Dave Laing) and there will be a full report at the next meeting. However, to allow this to be progressed in parallel most efficiently, here are some requests which will be re-stated at the next meeting :

• NEED photographic INPUT from SAMRA EC members. (REQUEST : Send to Dave Lang directly)This will be uploaded onto the draft website in the banner area, proposed to be used as a slide show, coupled with key messages both of which combine to project/underpin the AIMS of SAMRA. e.g. I intend to forward some pictures that I have of sunrises across the bay, which depict a clean environmental message. There could be others of local residents enjoying the seafront amenities. The KEY message (to be agreed upon) could be WHAT WE HAVE AT PRESENT – TO THIS, with a picture of 12 wheel articulated lorries passing from the Strand through the many rat-runs which will develop.
◦ I envisage a powerful picture could be of Sandymount green, with families enjoying the amenity on a warm summer day, or Halloween, or St Stephens Day with the Wren Boys – with a key message that THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A ROUND-ABOUT, illustrating the success that SAMRA have had already and encouraging residents to stand-up behind KEY MESSAGES AND CHALLENGES OF TODAY
◦ The photographic material needs to simply endorse the AIMS, and develop a pictorial story, behind the messages. The simpler and more powerful the picture and message – will be much more effective at engaging resident support…
• NEED Esmond Kelly ORIGINAL SAMRA website set-up information (Login Details, password – from the existing original website, to enable this to be transferred and reposted onto a new file server with DIGITAL.IO. Also NEED permission for the transfer to take place.
• NEED to establish residents PAYAL system onto the website (nothing exists at present) Need access details of email address/password of what has been used to enable this to be set up for the future, when residents are invited to contribute directly, and move away from the current paper based process, used at the ASGM.
• NEED photographs of Sandymount generally
• NEED to create a CALENDAR of KEY EVENTS, relevant to the regional development activities, to enable SAMRA interaction and INPUT

Please DON’T wait until the next meeting before sending anything as per the above.

I look forwards to taking you through what Dave Laing (unable to attend himself) has been able to generate to date at the next meeting (WEBSITE) – but it will be enhanced further with any material that you can supply meanwhile as REQUESTED ABOVE
